Hire lets the club put its own boats and kit out to members and visitors, and be paid for it, without anyone running a paper diary. List your dinghies, paddleboards and safety boats, decide when each can be booked and what it costs, and let people book and pay online.

Where a craft needs a qualification, the booking is only accepted from someone who holds it, verified by the club and in date. Anyone who can't book is told why: not held, not yet verified, or expired. It's the same bar Sail applies to duties and instructing.
An abandoned checkout can't hold a boat hostage.
An unpaid booking holds its craft only as long as is reasonable, and never so late that a freed boat is no use to anyone else. The hirer is told their deadline rather than being quietly cancelled.
The refund you're shown is the refund you get.
The club sets its own windows, and the member sees exactly what they'll get back before they confirm. The booking page, the refund preview and the confirmation email all read the same policy, so nobody is told one thing and charged another.
Putting the club fleet to work
- List the fleet as it really is: category, photographs, condition, where it lives, and separate member and visitor rates by the hour, half day or day, with an optional deposit and a maximum booking length
- Track each hull separately: where a club owns several of the same thing, every boat carries its own sail number and notes, so you know which one went out and what state it came back in
- Sell time the way your club actually hires: bookable sessions, hourly booking, or both, set per craft, with several sessions paid for in one basket
- Keep the calendar honest: block out dates for maintenance or a club event and the craft disappears from the booking calendar until the block-out ends, rather than being deleted from the fleet
- Approve what needs approving, and tell someone: requests reach a named hire person straight away, while confirmations, cancellations and releases arrive in one daily summary rather than being fanned out to every administrator
- Feed the books: hire income gets its own revenue report, and outstanding approvals are counted on the committee dashboard
