Most “AI features” ask you to trust a black box. SailAI is built to be trusted, and that is as much the point as the time it saves.
Grounded in your data, not guesswork
SailAI only ever works from the real figures your club holds. We hand it the totals already worked out, so it reads and explains them rather than doing the sums itself, and it is never allowed to invent a number.
It proposes, you decide
Anything that matters is review-then-apply. Rota proposals, imports and drafts are shown to you first, with the reasoning, and nothing reaches a member or a record until you approve it. You can untick any pick you disagree with.
It plays by the club's own rules
The rota optimisers follow exactly the same rules a person would: who is on approved leave, who is actually free, who holds the right qualifications, who is already at their duty limit, who would clash, and who has safeguarding clearance. SailAI can never put someone forward the club's rules would not allow.
It reads numbers, not people
Insights are built from counts and totals, with the personal details taken out first. SailAI is never handed members' names to find a pattern it can already see in the numbers.
It knows what it is not for
SailAI will explain a set of terms and conditions in plain English and proofread a document you wrote, but it will not draft legal terms from scratch. That is a deliberate line, and we would rather state it than pretend otherwise.
It tells you when it is stale
Insights run when you ask, show when they last ran, and warn you plainly rather than let a committee act on last month's picture.
SailAI does not replace the judgement of the person doing the job, because the proposal always comes back for review. It removes the two hours of assembly that come before the ten minutes of judgement. That is the whole idea.
